Basic Information of VITEEE 2025

VIT (Vellore Institute of Technology) was established as Vellore Engineering College in 1984 and was conferred the status of a Deemed-to-be-University in 2001 by the Government of India under Section 3 of the UGC Act. Over the past three decades, VIT has emerged as a leader in higher education, growing from 180 students to over 67,000 students.

Today, VIT is one of the most respected universities in India, offering top-ranked academic programs. The main campus is located in Vellore, Tamil Nadu, with an additional campus in Chennai. VIT also has campuses in Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh, and Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, which operate as State Private Universities.

VITEEE 2025 Exam Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for VITEEE 2025 is a necessity for every applicant applying for the VITEEE 2025 Application Form. The VITEEE 2025 Eligibility Criteria will be made available online alongside the official notification. VITEEE 2025 eligibility criteria include nationality, age limit, qualifying test, and others.

Nationality : The applicant for VITEEE should be a Resident / Non-Resident Indian National/OCI/PIO Holder. NRI applicants can directly apply under 'NRI Category' through the NRI application form. Foreign applicants who studied/studying abroad can apply directly through the International application form.
Age Limit : Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 2003 are eligible to apply for VITEEE 2025. The date of birth as recorded in the High School Certificate will be considered authentic. Candidates who fail to produce this certificate in original as proof of their age at the time of counselling shall stand disqualified.
Qualifying Examination : Candidates appearing for the VITEEE 2025 should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2025, in any one of the following qualifying examinations:
  • The final examination of the 10+2 system, conducted by any recognized Central/ State Board, such as CBSE, CISCE, or any other board recognized as equivalent.
  • Intermediate or two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/University.
  • General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced(A) level.
  • High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma.
  • Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling with a minimum of 5 subjects.
  • Applicants who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India should produce an equivalence certificate.
  • Only candidates from Regular, Full-Time, and Formal Education are eligible.
  • VITEEE 2025 is mandatory for Indian nationals applying for B.Tech admission.
  • If VITEEE 2025 is canceled due to unforeseen circumstances, higher secondary marks may be considered as the qualifying criteria.
Requirement in the Qualifying Examination : Applicants should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) in the qualifying examination (10+2/Intermediate).

Applicants belonging to SC/ST or from Jammu & Kashmir/Ladakh/Northeastern states must have a minimum aggregate of 50% in PCM. A valid community/nativity certificate is required at the time of counselling.
Subject Eligibility : PCM applicants who have attempted Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, English, and Aptitude (MPCEA) in VITEEE 2025 are eligible for all B.Tech programs.
State of Eligibility :
  • The state code of eligibility refers to the state where the candidate passed Class 12. It does not depend on the candidate's place of residence.
  • If a candidate appeared for Class 12 in one state but for improvement in another, the eligibility will be from the first state.
  • Candidates appearing for multiple board exams in the same academic year are not eligible.

Pattern of the Entrance Examination

All Questions will be of Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) type with the following sections:
  • Mathematics
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • English
  • Aptitude
Each question is followed by four choices. The candidate should choose only one option and submit the same.
No negative marks for wrong answers.
The question paper will be in English only.

Counselling Procedure

🏫 The VITEEE 2025 counselling process involves registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, fee payment, and reporting to the institute. Follow these steps carefully to secure your admission.

📌 Important Guidelines for VITEEE 2025 Counselling:
  • Selection is based on rank secured in the VITEEE 2025 CBT exam.
  • Rank holders up to 1 Lakh can apply for VIT Vellore, Chennai, AP, and Bhopal campuses.
  • Rank above 1 Lakh? You can apply for VIT AP and Bhopal campuses only.
  • Upload your Higher Secondary Exam hall ticket to download the provisional admission letter.
  • Eligibility verification is mandatory. Candidates must submit original documents when reporting to campus.
  • Counselling will be conducted in 5 phases. The rank-wise schedule will be available in the counselling portal.
  • A non-refundable counselling fee of ₹5,900 must be paid to participate.
  • Missed your phase? You can appear in the next phase, but with limited choices.
  • Once allotted, campus/program/fee category cannot be changed.
