Since its inception in 2004-05, COMEDK has been conducting the annual entrance exam for Undergraduate and Postgraduate courses in its participating institutions. It also organizes a single-window centralized counseling process every year.

COMEDKโ€™s efforts have been appreciated by Government-appointed Admission Overseeing Committees and even acknowledged by the Honโ€™ble Supreme Court as a model examination.

COMEDK 2025 Exam Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who are Indian Citizens or hold Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) / Person of Indian Origin (PIO) status are eligible to appear for the UGET 2025 entrance examination. However, OCI and PIO cardholders must obtain an eligibility certificate from the affiliating university (Visvesvaraya Technological University, Belagavi) before applying.

The qualifying examination required for admission to B.E./B.Tech is Second PUC (10+2) / Higher Secondary or an equivalent examination recognized by the State / Central Government. The last two years of study must include Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics, with English as a compulsory subject.
General Merit candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 45% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (with 40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates from Karnataka). Additionally, candidates must have passed these subjects individually. Physics & Mathematics are compulsory, while Chemistry, Biotechnology, Biology, Computer Science, or Electronics can be chosen as the optional subject. Any changes by AICTE/VTU in eligibility criteria will be adopted.
A candidate appearing for the COMEDK Entrance Test is considered eligible for ranking. However, candidates securing โ€˜0โ€™ (Zero) marks will not be assigned a rank.
Diploma candidates are not eligible to take the Entrance Test, as there are no lateral entry admissions.

Examination Scheme

All questions will be Multiple-Choice Questions (MCQ), with four options per question. The number of questions and maximum marks are detailed below:

Subject PCM (B.E)
Physics 60 MCQs
Chemistry 60 MCQs
Mathematics 60 MCQs
Total 180 Questions
  • Medium of Examination: English only
  • Marking Scheme: Each correct answer will be awarded 1 mark
  • Negative Marking: No negative marking for wrong answers
  • Total Marks: 180

Guidelines for Computer-Based Test (CBT)

A Computer-Based Test (CBT) requires candidates to sit in front of a designated computer terminal, identified by their TAT number and Admit Card. After logging in, candidates will receive detailed instructions for the examination. At the scheduled start time, questions will appear on the screen, and candidates can navigate using the computer mouse. The hardware (systems and mice) has been thoroughly tested for optimal performance.

In case of a system or mouse malfunction, candidates will be provided with a backup computer (buffer system) immediately. Examination centers have sufficient buffer systems to handle such issues. The exact lost time will be recorded and compensated accordingly, ensuring every candidate gets their full allotted exam duration. It is the candidateโ€™s responsibility to notify the room invigilator in case of any issues. The system automatically saves all progress before a switch, preventing any data loss.

Countdown timer displays the remaining time to complete the examination.
Question Palette on the right side shows the status of each question.
Navigate between questions by clicking the respective question number.
Mark a question for review and revisit it before submitting.
View answering status of a section by hovering over the section name.
Click on the Question Paper button to see all questions at once.
Switch between sections and change optional sections as needed.
Marking Scheme: Each correct answer is awarded 1 mark.
A Merit/Rank Card is generated based solely on the candidateโ€™s score. This rank determines eligibility for the seat selection process (counseling).
